After spending many years working in technology hunched over a desk I came to a point where I decided that I wasn’t getting what I wanted out of life. My body (especially my back) hurt all the time and I had no motivation to move beyond getting through the day. I knew I couldn’t sustain living that way and found CrossFit as a way to change that.
My athletic background is in running, and through it I have found purpose and health but above all else I’ve found just how incredible the human body is and how far it can go. In 2015 I signed up for and ran my first ultramarathon 50k (around 31 miles). I knew I was in trouble around 13 miles in when I was hurting, every single step become an achievement. Mentally I was ready to quit the race, and many times I almost did, but I just kept moving forward, one foot in front of the other. It took 8 hours to finish that race and by the end my movements felt purely robotic, but I did it. My body was able to accomplish what my brain felt was impossible. My hope is that I can also enable you to find how incredible movement of the body is and how incredible moving forward truly can be.
After spending many years running, with various injuries and burnout I decided to give CrossFit a try. My life completely changed when I picked up a barbell and became a consistent CrossFitter. I dare you to try it and see if it can change yours too.
Through my studies at Western in Kinesiology and Psychology I’ve learned a lot about how the human body works and how to rethink motivation about working out. These are tools I can help equip you with to keep you showing up and to finally make a difference. Let me show you how exercise and our CrossFit community can completely change your life.
