Growing up on the south end of Whidbey Island, Washington, I played almost every sport available. My biggest passions were playing basketball and running and jumping in track and field. Our track team was undefeated for all 6 years including league and district meets. One of my biggest accomplishments was assisting my team to a 3rd place seeding in the state and an eventual 8th place finish. I wish that I had picked up a barbell back then and had learned how to properly fuel my body for athletic performance. I feel like it would have strengthened my athletic endeavors and given me so much more confidence. But better late then never.
I am the mother of two beautiful children and married my high school sweetheart. Naturally, my body (and mind) have gone through many changes over the past decade. Thankfully I was able to find my way back to fitness after losing myself for a period of time and was able to release that inner athlete that had taken a back burner. I walked into my first Crossfit gym in January of 2014 and fell in love. It gave me back my confidence. I trained and developed as both an athlete and coach under one of the Crossfit Weightlifting’s Course’s head coaches, so I would have to admit that the barbell has my heart.
I am incredibly passionate about coaching and cannot express my pure joy in watching an athlete progress not only in their athletic skills, but seeing their confidence grow. I love being able to show people that no matter who they are, how old they are, Crossfit is for any and everyone!
In my spare time, I attend classes at Whatcom Community college, go to Seahawks games and love anything outside with my family. I also take pride in competing in several athletic endeavors, whether it be in powerlifting, strong man, classic Crossfit competitions or running obstacle course races.
